PLAN TEST

PLAN test will be given to sophomores in November. Must sign up in the guidance office. Fee is $10.00.

The PLAN® program helps 10th graders build a solid foundation for future academic and career success and provides information needed to address school districts' high-priority issues. It is a comprehensive guidance resource that helps students measure their current academic development, explore career/training options, and make plans for the remaining years of high school and post-graduation years.

PLAN can help all students—those who are college-bound as well as those who are likely to enter the workforce directly after high school.

As a "pre-ACT" test, PLAN is a powerful predictor of success on the ACT. At the same time, many schools recognize the importance of PLAN testing for all students, as it focuses attention on both career preparation and improving academic achievement.

COLLEGE VISITS/JOB SHADOWING

Juniors and seniors are encouraged to visit colleges and employers. Juniors are allowed one visit and seniors are allowed three visits a school year. This is an excused absence from school with the proper forms filled out. The necessary form can be picked up in the guidance office.

COLLEGE REPRESENTATIVE VISITS

Each fall 15 to 20 college admissions counselors visit Clermont Northeastern High School. Juniors and seniors may sign up in the guidance office to meet with these representatives. This is an opportunity for students to obtain information about schools.

APPLICATION TO COLLEGE

Seniors should make application to college in the fall of their senior year, before December 1st in order to ensure that they do not miss any scholarship deadlines. The college core requirements are 4 English, 3-4 math, 3-4 science, 3-4 social studies, 2-3 foreign languages, and 1 fine art.

FAFSA

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is to be mailed no sooner than January 1st of the student’s senior year.
